HELLO 2011!!!

I feel like a fail as a blogger. It's been a week since my last post and I have been on break!! I need to become more productive, seeing as though break is practically over.

Well, anyhow, New Year Resolutions. Hello 2011, Goodbye 2010. I must say, I have quite a few goals.

1. Cut my spending on food.
As I reflect on my freshman fall quarter, I spent WAY too much money on food. I ate on the ave practically everyday. Let's just say I knew Pagliacci's, Cafe on the Ave, Starbucks and Chipotle like the back of my hand. So, as of January 1, 2011, I will only spend money on Starbucks. I am a gold card member and I have 8:30's Monday-Thursday so that will be my treat. That's it!

2. Workout at least 3 days a week.
Looking back on that past four months, I went to the IMA probably a total of five or six times. Can you say pathetic? Ew...this is kind of gross to me. I was a big soccer player throughout my life up until senior year so I never had to make those trips to the gym. I am also naturally very skinny, which, don't get me wrong-is very nice, but I cannot rely off this. Eventually, it all catches up with you and I will NOT let that happen. Therefore, Lauren Hill and I are going to enroll in the Total Toning class winter quarter at the IMA. It's twice a week for an hour. This means I will need to go to the gym one more day on my own. This shouldn't be too hard. I mean, if I need motivation, it is now confirmed that me and my best friends are going to Vegas for SB! Can't complain.

3. Cut out/limit my FB time.
Don't get me wrong-I am a number one fan of social networking, but FB has taken it to a whole new level. It's outrageous how many hours or just time in general I end up spending on this lurkish website. Instead of dramatically changing my password or deactivating my account, I am going to check it once a day IF I have finished my homework, checked email, ect...you get the idea. Basically, if I have finished being productive for the day.

4. Don't Procrastinate/Time Management.
I would consider myself to be very organized and efficient, but sometimes I put things off... a lot. This quarter I am stepping it up from 12 to 15 credits!! I know, I am now becoming an average, full-time student at UW. But really, I need to maintain a strong GPA and the only way to do this is to stay on top of everything. When I get an assignment (reading, book work, ect), I need to start it that night. Otherwise, it all starts to overwhelmingly build up and I have a handful of obligations and responsibilities that I need to uphold. I bought a brand new desk at IKEA today so it will be convenient to have a place to study and sit. However, I am still planning on being a bookworm in the library. I need silence so Law is my second home.

5. Don't let the little things get to me.
This one is short and sweet. I often get super stressed out about little things and dwell on them, when in reality, they don't matter at all. This quarter/year, I want to keep my head clear and I want to remain focused on what matters and what is important to me and ultimately, critical to my success. This means no petty drama (even listening to it can get you involved!!) and no more douche bags (:
I am confident in who I am and I know that in the grand scheme of things, doesn't matter.

Last, but certainly not least...

6. Book babysitting jobs and start applying.
I no longer want to be completely financially dependent on my parents when I am at college. Obviously I cannot afford to pay for tuition and room & board, but as far as spending money goes, I would like to take on that responsibility. I want to afford that lifestyle on my own! Aka my frequent shopping trips to UVill, eating out, books/supplies, and saving money for my trips I want to take in the summer.

Normally, these "NY Resolutions" never seem to work out. However, I have faith that if I post these above my desk as a friendly reminder and stick to it, I can do it.

Yay for 2011. I can't wait!!
